Atom Power, a Charlotte, N.C.-based maker of a digital circuit breaker, raised $17.75m in Series B funding.
Backers included Valor Equity Partners, Rockwell Automation, Inc., ABB Technology Ventures, and Atreides Management.
The company, which has raised $23m in total funding, intends to use the funds to develop the next generation digital circuit breaker, scale its intelligent power management platform, and integrate renewables into the grid, building more efficient data centers, and supporting other sustainable energy initiatives.
Led by Ryan Kennedy, CEO, Atom Power designs and manufactures a suite of intelligent products including a circuit breaker, distribution panel and software that enables complete control and customization of electrical infrastructure for commercial and industrial applications.
Looking ahead, the company will apply its technology via advanced e-mobility to shift how electric vehicle charging infrastructure is deployed through inherent demand management that saves energy and costs.
